Refund Check: Who is eligible and how to get a check for up to $1,500 that will arrive these days?

There is more cash coming for American citizens in the form for relief checks that will be worth between $750 and $1,500. About 10 days from now, these will be the last of millions of checks that are now heading to people who live in the state of Colorado. Any taxpayer who filed their taxes by October 17 will be able to expect their Colorado Cash Back rebate by the end of January, on the 31st. This is one of the states that has been issuing checks all month and they want to have all these checks sent by next week. Even Governor Jared Polis signed a law back in May 2022 that provided these payments.

Initially, these payments were destined to be $400 for individual filers and $800 for couples. But these payments were boosted to $750 for single tax filers and $1,500 for couples after additional state revenue came in. Many already got an early round of payments back in September for any filer who didn’t need an extension. In a grand total, there are about three million residents who qualify for this cash. This is where people will begin asking the main question: Am I eligible for these checks?

People who are eligible for the Refund Check

People who are getting this payments are Colorado residents who must have been 18 years or older by December 31, 2021. They also need to have been residents of the state of Colorado throughout the entire 2021 income tax year and filed a state income tax return. This is bad news for folks who moved to the state last year, they are not eligible for the cash. People who don’t file taxes can still become eligible if they apply for a property tax, rent or heat credit rebate. Other states that are offering any type of rebates are Montana, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.
